SUBJECT: Call to Stated Session, Sept. 22, 2007

It’s that time once again to come together as a Classis in Stated Session on Saturday, March 8, 2008 at Calvary Reformed Church in Ripon. We will begin promptly at 9:00 a.m. with a time of worship and celebration. The theme of the worship/celebration and indeed the entire classis session is: “ONE THING! Following Christ in Mission” carrying forward and building on the theme of the RCA church leader’s conference in San Antonio in January. During the worship/celebration time we receive the ordination transfer of Rev. Jose Figueroa from the PCA and install Rev. Eddy Aleman into the function of Apostolic Regional Missionary. Both of these events are cause for great rejoicing.

During the noon lunch recess we will be privileged to hear from Tom Vanderlee from Words of Hope.

The documents to prepare you for the various discussions are attached. (They can also be found on the classis website: www.svccrca.org/classis). Please duplicate and distribute these documents to your delegates and instruct them to review them and to bring them along to the stated session. To expedite our time together it will be assumed that every delegate has read the discussion material in advance of the meeting. Additional reports will sent at a later date in a separate email attachment.

Pre-Classis Training Event

Please make your reservations for the second in a series of Pre-Classis Training Events to be held on Friday, March 7. Rev. Fred Harrell will lead Part I: “The Language of Missional Preaching” and Rev. Mike Hayes will lead Part II: “The Components of a Gathering Church.” The registration fee is $15 per person to cover the snacks, lunch and materials. Send your check(s) to Don Werkhoven, with a note indicating “Pre-Classis Training Event.”

Consistory and Elder Minutes for Review

The following churches are asked to bring their Consistory and Elder Minutes for annual review by the Relationship Development Commission:
