“Keeping the Main Thing the Main Thing”

TO:  Classis Delegates

FROM:  Office of the Stated Clerk

SUBJECT:  Call to Stated Session, September 22, 2007

It’s that time once again to come together as a Classis in Stated Session on Saturday, September 22, 07 at Church of the Chimes in San Jose.  We will begin promptly at 9:00 AM, with a time of worship and celebration.  The theme of the worship/celebration and indeed the entire classis session is:  Keeping the Main Thing the Main Thing” based on Phil. 1: 6, 27.  During the worship/celebration time we formally receive The Journey as an organized RCA congregation and also receive the ordination transfer of Rev. Timothy Ramage from the PCUSA.  Both of these events are cause for great rejoicing.

During the noon lunch recess we will be privileged to hear from Rev. Johnson Ogema who has planted over 100 churches in Uganda, Africa.

The documents to prepare you for the various discussions are attached. (They can also be found on the classis website: www.svccrca.org/classis).  Please duplicate and distribute these documents to your delegates and instruct them to review them and to bring them along to the stated session.  To expedite our time together it will be assumed that every delegate has read the discussion material in advance of the meeting.  Additional reports will be sent at a later date in a separate email attachment.

Please give the CMC ARM Proposal your close attention.  This is a new initiative designed to further the classis commitment to reach the Hispanic population in our region.  This proposal asks for the participation of all the churches in the classis.
