Wedding Regulations

The Congregation and Consistory (board) of Sonoma Valley Community Church (SVCC) happily offers the use of its facilities for those wishing to be united in marriage.  The following regulations are established to assist couples in understanding the requirements for the use of SVCC's facilities:

1.      Under normal circumstances the pastor of SVCC will be the officiant at weddings held at the church.  When another officiant is requested, that individual must be a licensed minister (active or retired) affiliated with a Christian church. (*See #7 below)

2.      The fee for using the church will be $500.00.  This fee covers use of the sanctuary, candleholders, flower stands, sound system, annex building as needed for the wedding and rehearsal.  Maximum occupancy in the sanctuary is between 130 to 150 adults and children.  An additional fee will be charged if the facilities will be used for a wedding reception.  Such fee will be based upon the size and duration of the reception.

3.      A separate cleaning deposit of $150.00 will be required prior to use of the facilities.  All or part of this deposit will be returned depending on whether the facilities are left in a clean an orderly fashion.  Rice and confetti are not to be used on the church property.  Birdseed can be used outdoors only.

4.      The piano and organ may by used.  These instruments however are not to be moved.  Tape is not to be used on church furniture. Food or beverages are not allowed in the sanctuary.

5.      Alcohol is not permitted on the church grounds, tobacco is limited to outdoor use and cigarette butts must be disposed of properly.

6.      SVCC will supply a wedding coordinator to assist with the rehearsal and wedding.  A $75.00 fee will be required for this person's assistance.  The fee shall be paid directly to the coordinator.

7.      * In the event that another minister is used to perform the ceremony, the wedding coordinator from SVCC will be assigned to be on the premises throughout the duration of the use of the facilities.

8.      Financial arrangements with the minister of SVCC and church pianists (if requested) will be handled individually.

9.      It is expected that wedding parties and their guests will conduct themselves in a manner appropriate to the use of a house of worship and prayer.

10.  Signatures below attest to the couples' agreement to these guidelines.
